Kristyn Taylor
I was born in NZ and came to Australia when I was 18. I completed a BSc in Zoology (Hons) at UNSW, specialising in bird behaviour. The skills I developed observing animals in the field have made a vital contribution to my art work.
My personal ceramic work explores large scale figures in dioramas that comment on society and in particular my own life experiences. There is always a support crew of animals in my work.
For the last 10 years ceramicsinschools has taken over my life. I have not had a solo show for a number of years, however, I have participated annually in group shows with NG Art. I also paint and have recently started to explore photography.
After working with children for over 10 years I can still say there is nothing more stimulating and refreshing than seeing the world through the eyes of a 7year old.
